Volcano Experiment with Volcano Pad

Updated: Mar 11

We have been trying to do a volcano experiment for a while but could not find hydrogen peroxide in the stores. Found this volcano kit that came with a pad for easy clean up and two ways to do the experiment; using lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide. We used the lemon juice as it is milder and we already had it in our refrigerator.

Loved this kit as we were able to repeat the experiment several times due to it being an easy clean up. You can choose whatever food color you like for your volcano. Additionally, it came with containers to hold your ingredients with labels which was nice to help keep things orderly when doing the experiment. Teddy was able to pour the items which he loved.

Ingredients used:

  • Baking Soda

  • Lemon Juice

  • Red food coloring

  • optional-you can add dish detergent for bubbles

Directions:

  1. Pour the lemon juice inside the toy volcano

  2. Add a few drops of food coloring

  3. Add a scoop of baking soda

  4. Watch your volcano erupt!

See our pictures below. Product details listed at the end. To see the video of Teddy doing this experiment scroll down to our picture section on our website or go to our Facebook or Instagram page.

There are many ways to do this experiment. What volcano experiments have you done?
